Donna Novak & Michael P. Naughton formed 13 Hands Publications in 2005. Their first project was to compile all of actor Michael Madsen's poetry that was published to date, and they proceeded to stylize, design and edit The Complete Poetic Works of Michael Madsen, Vol. I: 1995-2005. The book included new poetry by Madsen as well as a large collection of movie photos and personal photos. This book is of continued interest and has gotten Madsen international recognition as a poet.

In 2006, they designed and edited Michael Madsen's first full color book of poetry featuring photography Madsen had taken from his travels as an actor. These photos featured signs that he viewed as peculiar and interesting, and the book highlighted poetry Madsen wrote during this time on the road. This book, Signs of Life, is available in both Limited Edition hardcover and paperback formats.

Donna edited the slambang satire mystery novel by Michael P. Naughton, Deathryde: Rebel Without a Corpse, released in 2008, which is reminiscent of Elmore Leonard's Be Cool with a hint of Carl Hiaasen's satirical style.

2009 brought about the release of Elaine Madsen's first poetry book, Crayola Can't Make These Colors and the subsequent release of Michael Madsen's third poetry book, American Badass. This latest release is a full color fan book filled with new poetry and rare personal photos and movie photos.

Donna is currently working on her first children's book, and is also writing a compilation of mystery/horror short stories with Michael P. Naughton. Both are due to be released in 2012.
